Understanding Resistance To Change – This session explains how to respond to resistance from
other teams to initiatives from your area.  Accomplishing the objectives of an initiative and
maintaining good relationships is emphasized.  Tools that will be discussed include:
    • Self-assessment of recent changes
    • Expectation / Reality analysis
    • Why people resist change
    • Formula for successful change
    • Strategies for managing change

Gaining Agreement, Commitment, And Support – Skills to influence others to gain their
commitment to initiatives and their support in implementing them.  
    • Behavioral indicators of a lack of commitment
    • Resistance to commitment
    • Encouraging trust
    • Networking charting
    • Task agreement checklist
    • Feedback model

Leading Improvement Activities – This session covers the analysis and the influence skills
needed to gain agreement within the organization.  Before proceeding with an initiative use these
tools:
    • Assessing the environment
    • Selecting your strategy
    • Identifying your influence base
    • Planning for action

Philosophy Of Efficiency – This session provides an overview of an effective business model to
accomplish efficiency in the workplace.  Discussion includes explanation/illustrations of:
    • 4S / 5S fundamentals
    • Assessment of the seven forms of waste
    • Pull system
    • Just in time
    • Visual control

Introduction to PDCA – This session provides the student with an understanding of the basic
characteristics of PDCA as a cycle of management.  During this session, attendees will gain an
understanding of what it means to “grasp the situation” and make decisions based on that
situation.  Components of PDCA that will be discussed are:
    • Grasping the situation
    • Planning
    • Doing
    • Checking
    • Deciding needed action(s)

Effective Meeting Facilitation – This session is designed to develop skills needed to effectively
lead a group through a meeting in a facilitative manner aimed at group consensus.  Emphasis is
placed on the roles to perform key responsibilities of a facilitator, recorder, and group member.  
Session content includes resources that will lead the participant through:
    • Planning successful meetings
    • Understanding group consensus
    • Recording meeting proceedings
    • Prevention and intervention techniques
    • Planning an agenda
    • Building agreement
    • Solving problems in a group

Effective Presentation Skills – Everyone who teaches, presents to groups, or trains others can be
more effective in accomplishing their presentation goals.  This session will focus on:
    • Principles of adult learning
    • Tools for presentations
    • Techniques for effective delivery

Worksite Communication – This session will help attendees to improve the quality of one-on-one
verbal skills.  Special emphasis is placed on skill development that will enhance their ability to
prevent or resolve people problems and improve communication at the worksite.  Information
covered includes:
    • Perception model
    • Learning model
    • Seven life skills essential to excel

Introduction to Standardized Work For The Office – The objective of this session is to help the
attendee understand basic concepts that emphasizes the importance of standardization in the
office environment.  It will equip attendees with the tools needed to begin applying standardized
work in the office.  Tools covered include:
    • Job breakdown sheet
    • Process flow chart
    • Standardized work examples as applied to the office environment

Introduction to Standardized Work – The objective of this session is to help the attendee
understand the importance of standardization in manufacturing processes.  It will equip attendees
with skills needed to begin using standardized work tools such as:
    • Combination table
    • Standardized work chart as applied to manufacturing processes.

Job Instruction Training – Attendees completing this session will realize how important it is to
“break down” a job into simple steps before trying to teach it to someone else.  In addition, each
participant will learn to instruct by utilizing the Four-Step Method and experience its effectiveness
by teaching a skill to another member of the group.

Job Relations Training – This session will provide the attendees with a specific four-step process to
effectively handle personnel problems that arise at the workplace.  Also included is guidance on
how to get results through people and establishes the foundations for good working relations.
